Job Description

The Opportunity:
Saint Luke’s Community Hospital in Roeland Park, Kansas is seeking an Inpatient Registered Nurse to join our team.
As an Medical Surgical Intermediate inpatient RN on this team, you will have the opportunity to triage and perform ongoing assessments and provide direct patient care to a variety of acuity levels and conditions. In this environment you will be the lead RN in the department.
Shift Details: This is a full time day shift position.
The Work
  • Report adverse treatments or medications in accordance with current policies and procedures.
  • Prepare patient meals.
  • Serves as a professional role model by collaborating with clinical and front office staff, administration and other professional disciplines to ensure effective patient care is delivered to optimal patient outcomes
  • Performs primary nursing functions of assessing, planning, directing, performing and evaluating patient care in the Inpatient/Telemetry Unit
  • Collect detailed patient history and symptoms, including vital signs, providing appropriate care in a timely and cost-effective manner.
  • Initiate care to stabilize patient and assist in managing life support needs by collaborating with physician and clinical staff, demonstrating appropriate admission, discharge and transfer procedures.
  • Participates in QAPI activities including participation in accreditation preparation and survey process, and maintenance of accreditation, state, and CMS standards.
  • Appropriately triage patient and prioritizes needs, displaying a caring and responsive attitude.
  • Collect laboratory samples and perform lab testing in accordance with CLIA regulations and established polices and procedures.
  • Demonstrate ability to mange care within the established standards of nursing care and practice as defined by the state.

Advanced Cardiac Life Support - American Heart Association or Red Cross, Basic Life Support - American Heart Association or Red Cross, Registered Nurse (KS) - National Council of State Boards of Nursing (NURSYS)
