Rn Clinic - Helen Keller Hospital, Working Fit, Full Time, 1St Shift

Overview

Corporate Wellness RN is responsible for delivering exceptional customer service while maintaining quality patient care in accordance to established policies, objectives and goals. Corporate Wellness RN is responsible for providing patient care on occupational injuries, providing emergency medical assistance as needed, and providing requested preventative treatment for occupational health patients as needed. Performs other duties as assigned. The Corporate Wellness RN is accountable for the outcome of patient care delivered during the assigned shift. Office hours are Monday-Friday. Closed weekends and major holidays.

Responsibilities

• Review travel vaccines and administer to patient
• Administers the following test: hearing, drug test, Breath Alcohol, pulmonary function, venipuncture, mask fit, eye exam, health screenings and other test as required, may be performed off site.
• Ability to perform a complete assessment on all patients and reassessment based on unit scope of care. Takes appropriate action based on assessment findings.
• Assist with preforming pre-employment physicals, post-accident physicals, return to work physicals, DOT exams
• Utilize critical thinking in performing technical and manual skills to meet patient care needs.
• Teach lunch and learn classes for corporations to include but not limited to CPR/First Aid
• Assist physician with work comp injuries: testing, exam, suturing and bandaging
• Documentation meets current standards and policies.
• Acknowledge physicians on the unit; providing patient information and assisting as needed.
• Appropriate delegation, coordination and supervision of others in the delivery of patient care.
• Administer vaccinations at the clinic and on-site at corporations
• Demonstrates appropriate knowledge and utilization of critical thinking skills in the administration of medications.
• Assumes accountability for appropriate utilization of resources.

Qualifications

Education:

Current Alabama RN license or a current RN multi-state license

Experience

Previous Occupational Health experience preferred; previous nursing experience preferred.

Additional Skill/Abilities

BLS required within 90 days of employment. Certifications in Occupational Hearing Conservation, Breath Alcohol Testing, and Department of Transportation Drug Testing required within six-month provisional period. Ability and willingness to work with all patients. Knowledge of OSHA requirements preferred.
