Team Overview

The Risk Regulatory Affairs team ensures the Independent Risk organization maintains a strong and productive engagement model with Regulators, predominantly Prudential Regulators including the Federal Reserve, OCC and FDIC. The team proactively manages regulatory matters to ensure the organization provides high quality and timely content that is responsive to regulators’ expectations. The team partners closely with subject matter experts within Independent Risk to:

  • Conduct exam readiness assessments to ensure the organization proactively self-identifies issues and documentation is ready for submission;
  • Support the development of appropriate and comprehensive responses and remediation plans when regulatory issues and concerns are identified; and
  • Manage execution of regulatory interactions, including ongoing supervisory meetings and information requests, to strengthen regulatory relations from an Independent Risk Management perspective;
  • Produce thematic summaries to Senior Management on regulatory interactions and developments to provide insight and advice;
  • Work closely with partners in other Businesses and Functions, to ensure consistent and clear communications to regulators.
  • Oversee and coordinate regulatory examinations and reviews to ensure the risk teams are organized and proactively addressing regulatory requests and concerns;

Position Description

The objective of this role is to support the administration of regulatory interactions (exams, reviews, meetings and information requests) across Independent Risk. The position will require project management and stakeholder engagement to ensure that regulatory engagements are thoughtful, comprehensive and address regulators’ asks. In addition, there is opportunity to provide reporting to senior management, highlighting key topics and emerging themes from regulatory engagements.

Key Responsibilities

  • Coordination activities include project and calendar management, compiling content into aggregated responses, documenting regulatory engagements and ensuring record retention within Citi’s internal systems, preparing reports on team activities, and completing administrative activities.
  • Support the activities of the Risk Regulatory Affairs team, including regulatory exam management, ongoing supervisory meetings and information requests, response to regulatory letters, reporting to senior management and other relevant matters that may arise.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree with 2-5 years of relevant experience.
  • Clear and concise written and verbal communication skills.
  • Influencing, facilitation, and partnering skills. Ability to build sound internal and external networks.
  • Problem-solving abilities and organizational/time management skills. Strong attention to detail, willingness to "roll up the sleeves".
  • Autonomous and highly motivated with the ability to multi-task productively and to work independently, as well as collaboratively.
  • Previous office administration experience, preferably within a large and complex financial service, or similar organization. Project management skills a plus.
  • Proficiency in MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint). Demonstrated ability to quickly gain command of new systems.
  • Awareness of general concepts/principles of risk management (credit risk, market risk, liquidity risk, operational risk, strategic risk and/or capital markets and finance) is preferred.
