Revolt Black News, Documentary and Alternative Programming is the development and production arm of REVOLT media company. It is our role to produce original content and develop relationships with talent, producers, and directors in our unique space. We need your passion, innovative ideas, and creativity to help take us to new heights.
We are currently seeking a News Producer-Editor to support our News and Digital divisions. You will be fully integrated into RBN’s digital and social teams, working as Producer-editor of original video content. You will also work with the producing team of our flagship series, Revolt Black News Weekly in suggesting and securing editorial and visual content for show’s video wall. You will have experience in both news, digital programming, and social media. You will be joining a self-motivated, passionate, and collaborative team environment.

What You’ll Do

• Create, produce and develop original, creative content across all RBN digital and social media platforms (e.g. Instagram, Facebook, Twitter, Snapchat and YouTube.
• Maintain proper care and maintenance of video equipment, video editing and finishing
• Produce, shoot, and edits social content that breaks through the noise
• Work closely with RBNW Producers, Newsdesk, Social/Digital Strategists, Designers, Managers, and Post-Production to execute assignments, concept new content ideas, and optimize based on performance
• Plan, select, and secure video and images for RBN Weekly video wall.
• Make on-brand artistic and technical decisions for lighting, camera coverage, shooting style, and location
• Conducts research for upcoming projects and other duties as assigned

Preferred Qualifications

• A self starter who can hit the ground running and work effectively in team environments.
• High level of integrity and discretion in handling confidential information.
• On the pulse of HipHop and Black culture, well-versed in news, social media trends and content strategies.
• Package various content with Adobe Suites, specifically Adobe Premiere Pro, After Effects, and
• Minimum 2 years’ experience working in news/digital programming at a premium network, media/publishing company producing compelling visual content.
• Demonstrated problem-solver with ability to perform tasks under tight deadlines and manage simultaneous projects.
• Willingness to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends as needed.
• Bachelor’s degree in journalism or film
• Portfolio/reel that showcases a strong visual story-telling background, as a proficient camera operator and an experienced editor.
• Can adapt to change quickly.
