Job Description
Inside the Role
Processes product returns including opening and examining customer returns, preparing documentation and entering data into warranty system. Provides support for rapid problem solving as it relates to failed components. Monitors quality for Detroit products and provides feedback through the warranty system and cross functional teams. Initiate vendor recovery and corrective action through collaboration. Maintains minimum cycle time for material processing.

Position offers a starting salary range of $56,000- $71,500
Pay offered dependent on knowledge, skills, and experience

What You Drive at DTNA
  • Provide assistance to problem solving teams in identifying failure modes and providing root cause analysis.
  • Preparation and timely submissions of warranty inspection triage reports.
  • Maintain a work area that is within the TOS guidelines.
  • Perform engine tear down and inspection as needed.
  • Assist in developing technical component warranty evaluation documentation consistent with service and warranty documentation.
  • Assist in providing technical analysis and coordination for onsite joint inspections with the component supplier.
  • Attend meetings, as required, to assist in gathering information, reporting findings and assist in the decision making process concerning warranty claims issues.
  • Interface with internal departments, repair facilities and suppliers to gather information, report findings and develop documentation as needed.
  • Establish a strong working relationships with all members of the problem solving teams.
  • Process returned warranty material and provide material disposition & analysis.
  • Determine test and equipment needs for the return material area.
Knowledge You Should Bring
  • Strong written and verbal communication, as well as strong interpersonal and computer skills are required
  • Ability to understand and communicate diesel engine components functions including proper usage and basic failure analysis is required.
  • Requires 3 years of relevant experience or AA degree + 1 year of relevant experience
  • Strong mechanical aptitude, understanding of truck or automotive technology, product knowledge and working knowledge of PC-based software is required
  • Must to able to lift 50lbs
  • Must be well organized, detail and process oriented, have a high degree of initiative and the highest degree of integrity
Exceptional Candidates Might Have
  • May assist with determining appropriate approaches for new projects
  • Works independently with limited degree of oversight within defined processes and procedures
  • Requires proficiency in a range of technical processes and procedures as required of the role
  • Acts as an informal resource for colleagues with less experience
