• Physical ability to work outside in all weather conditions, lift up to 60 lbs. frequently, spend up to 100% of work time, other than breaks, standing and moving, climbing and kneeling on concrete or hard surfaces; use of forklifts, pallet jacks, ladders, and rolling staircases. Consistent adherence to safety standards
• Understanding of correct lifting and loading techniques
• Good communication skills and the ability to effectively engage with individuals on a regular basis
• Garden knowledge along with chemical/fertilizer knowledge is preferred
• Ability to multitask and take on different responsibilities when necessary
• Ability to work well with others and a willingness to learn
• Knowledge of gardening and plants and/or Greenhouse experience a plus
• Willingness to share credit, work with others in a team environment, and define success collectively rather than individually
• Open availability and a willingness to meet shift requirements, including working on weekends and certain holidays
• Drive to be dependable, and to perform well against the expectations of the role

WHAT IS IT LIKE TO BE A LAWN & GARDEN ASSOCIATE AT NORTH 40?

As a Lawn & Garden Sales Associate at North 40, your main priority is to connect with our customers and be a genuine resource on our products. You play a key role in the overall customer experience by providing outstanding customer service, accurate product information, and solution recommendations for our customer’s needs. To support maintaining an impressive environment for our customers, you will help with stocking and merchandising products, and safeguarding company assets. You are committed to doing a job well – and you demonstrate that by your willingness to learn, your reliability, and your genuine interest in and support of your teammates. Knowledge of farm store merchandise is helpful.

WORK SCHEDULE FOR A LAWN & GARDEN ASSOCIATE

This full-time position requires the ability to work all scheduled shifts between the business hours of Mon-Sat 7 am to 7 pm, and Sunday 9 am to 5 pm. This shift can include working weekends and certain holidays and will require flexibility in scheduling based on business needs.
