Job Description
Location: Sibley Memorial Hospital, Washington, DC 20016
Category: Respiratory
Schedule: Day Shift
GENERAL SUMMARY : Initiates, performs complex respiratory care treatments, services and provides continuous monitoring of patients and equipment. Works in Nursing Units, Intensive Care, Emergency Room, Recovery Room and other units as assigned. Functions as charge therapist in absence of a supervisor.
Minimum Education and Experience:
Successful completion of a two year AMA approved school of Respiratory Care with Associates Degree in Respiratory Care, completion of a 96 hour program with a Bachelor of Arts or Science Degree or a Non Traditional Program which meets the criteria of the National Board for Respiratory Care.
The applicant must have also completed the Entry Level Certification Examination administered by the National Board for Respiratory Care.
Applicant must submit proof of successful completion of the written and clinical simulation examination for Registered Respiratory Therapists administered by the National Board of Respiratory Care along with registry number.
Must have a District of Columbia license of Respiratory Care Practitioner.
Current CPR Certification required
