ECU Health Roanoke-Chowan Hospital is a 114-bed community hospital located in Ahoskie. Serving four nearby counties, the 15-bed emergency department sees approximately 18,000 patients per year. ECU Health Roanoke-Chowan Hospital provides a wide range of health services, including medical, surgical and radiation oncology. In addition, the Wound Healing and Pain Management clinics serve as referral centers for neighboring ECU Health hospitals and providers.

Position Summary
The Respiratory Care Assistant II (RCA) will work only under direct supervision of a NC licensed Respiratory Care Practitioner. Under the Clinical Supervision of the Medical Director of Respiratory Care and the overall supervision of the Manager of Respiratory Care and Respiratory Care Supervisor, the RCA provides safe, expedient, cost-effective Respiratory Care services. As a member of a team of health care professionals, you will evaluate, treat, and manage patients of all ages with respiratory illnesses and other cardiopulmonary disorders in a wide variety of clinical settings. As an RCA, you are required to behave in a manner consistent with the standards and ethics of all healthcare professionals. In addition to performing respiratory care procedures, RCA's are required to document in the patient medical record factual, accurate, complete, timely, legible and legal information about the care they provide to each patient.
Minimum Requirements

• American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification
• Advance Life Support Certification (ACLS), if not current at time of hire, must complete within first 12 months of Employment and maintained
• Active licensure with the North Carolina Respiratory Care Board upon hire
• Over 1 year active student in a CoARC accredited Respiratory Care program

• This is a PRN, as needed position
• Work schedule will be set to accomodate school schedule
