Residential/Commercial Glass Installer

Allied Glass, Eastern Iowa’s source for professional glass services is growing! Our Cedar Rapids office is looking for candidates who have mechanical aptitude, previous Construction experience and want to work for a reputable company.

What you’ll do:

Assist with the installation of commercial storefront, shower doors, windows, mirrors, and other glass products while developing the skills and experience to eventually perform installations on their own. Typical skills and tasks include:

• Interfacing with customers and project managers
• Measuring openings and reading a tape measure
• Knowledge of glass shower installation
• Fabricating (cutting, polishing, drilling) glass
• Calculating sizes utilizing fraction addition and subtraction
• Carrying glass (up to 80lb)

What you’ll need to have:

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Ability to read blue prints and take measurements with a tape measure
• Ability to lift 75 lbs. frequently, 80 lbs. occasionally
• A valid driver’s license and acceptable insurability for regular business travel
• Construction or home building experience preferred but we will train those with a genuine interest in learning a new trade
