RESPONSIBILITIES

• Provides daily coaching on processes and procedures for all Residential Mentors
• Trains new Residential Mentors and some other members of the residential team (e.g. security)
• Maintains/updates processes, procedures and associated materials
• Develops and supports development of processes, checklists and training materials for the residential team, with a particular focus on Residential Mentors
• Support communication with parents and families
• Implement the THRIVE boarding program with fidelity
• Creates and implements training schedules for new hires
• Confers with management and supports development plans and/or corrective action when Residential Mentors are not meeting job requirements/standards
• Mediate conflicts and promote a positive living environment
• Other duties as assigned
• Identifies individual and team skills gaps and supports plans to cure deficiencies
• Set a positive example by being a role model for Residential Mentors and students in the program
• Monitors and tracks ongoing training, education and progress of all residential mentors
• Develops and supports development of training materials for annual Residential Mentor orientation and ongoing professional development courses
• Plan and implement programs and activities to do with students
• Mentor students to help support their growth mentally, academically, and socially

QUALIFICATIONS

• Enthusiasm and patience for working with middle and high school age students
• Minimum high school diploma or equivalent
• Knowledge or background in working with at-risk children and youth
• Willingness to work hard and with fidelity
• Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
• Exceptionally organized

ACCOUNTABILITY

This position is accountable to the Director of Residential Life

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $40,000.00 - $45,000.00 per year
