Position Summary
Ensures student accountability and adherence to established standards of conduct to provide a dormitory environment
that promotes and reinforces educational advancement, personal, social and professional development, positive attitudes,
discipline, self-expression and control, motivation, independent living skills, positive peer relations, hygiene, goal-setting,
service to others, and successful life management.
Qualifications & Experience
High School Diploma or High School Equivalency
Job Duties
  • Provide lessons to instruct students in development of social skills.
  • Conduct follow-up on students who are absent from training day activities.
  • Complete all required training according to Job Corps and Company training schedule.
  • Ensure confidentiality of student's records and services.
  • Encourage student participation in recreation and other structured evening programs.
  • Advise enrollees of Center rules and regulations.
  • With Center-provided training, may administer first aid and emergency medical procedures (e.g., CPR).
  • Maintain a safe and clean work area, adhering to all safety guidelines.
  • Ensure Dorm Life rules and expectations are properly posted in all areas.
  • Influence positive relationships among dormitory residents.
  • Train students to design information bulletin boards each month.
  • Arrange facilities to promote student personality and character development.
  • Participate in student employability programs and activities.
  • Supervise student activities in the Dormitory area.
  • Maintain accurate student accountability records/reports.
  • Conduct conflict management meetings for students.
  • Maintain order in the dormitory.
  • Other duties as assigned.
  • Operate in accordance with requirements set in the contract, PRH, guides, Standard Operating Procedures, and corporate policies.
  • Conduct ongoing training of the student handbook.
  • Facilitate students receiving prompt and appropriate assistance in the event of injury, illness, emotional trauma, arrest, trouble at home, or other traumatic experience.
  • Promote development of Career Success Standards by modeling expected behaviors, mentoring students and fellow staff to aid in their growth, and monitoring student behavior for accountability and recognition.
  • Ensure assigned students sign the Morning Accountability Check (MAC) prior to leaving the dormitory.
  • Participate in student disciplinary process.
  • Assist in conducting dorm meetings to plan activities, permit an exchange of student views on dorm problems and needs, and encourage student leadership development.
  • Contribute to cultivation of positive Center culture which is free of harassment, discrimination, intimidation, and disrespect to provide a safe place for staff and students to work and learn.
  • Inspect dormitory areas to ensure cleanliness, safety, and attractiveness.
  • Advise and support students as a mentor and role model in the achievement of their learning and career goals.
  • Supervise housekeeping chores and instruct students in proper cleanliness and maintenance of dormitory facilities. Implement Center's Dorm Life programs.
  • Participate in evaluation of student progress panel process, conducting periodic reviews of student personal/social development plan progress.
  • Support, promote, and enforce the Job Corps Zero Tolerance Policy.
  • Encourage favorable student behavior.
  • Record required information in RA log each workday according to procedures.
  • Maintain student files and records in a secure lockable location.
  • Provide quality customer service to students, staff, and other Center customers.
  • Promote 6 C's of Positive Youth Development by treating students respectfully as adults and developing positive student relationships.
  • Provide individual guidance in close coordination with counselors.
  • Ensure each student's property and clothing inventory is current and safely/securely store student inventory items when student is on approved leave or in unauthorized absence (UA) status.
