Job Title: Research Tracking Associate


Reports to: Research Director


Salary: $40,000-$45,000, Plus see below for details on the DPW generous benefits package


Location: Madison, WI


Start date: June/July 2023

The Opportunity: As a Research Tracking Associate, you will be the eyes and ears of our research team, gathering real-time information on Republican opponents. In this role, you will monitor schedules of public events, looking for opportunities to get GOP candidates on the record and hold them accountable. You will also transcribe and report on campaign activities and assist with other duties as needed, including opposition research and rapid response.


Job Responsibilities:


  • Support broader research and communications efforts.
  • This position may require work during non-standard hours, especially during on years, in accordance with DPW flex and comp time policies.
  • Transcribe events and maintain a database of past candidate statements, schedules, and speeches.
  • Create opportunities to hold opponents accountable by capturing them on the record.
  • Attend public events to record candidate speeches, activities, and discussions.
  • Monitor campaign opponent’s schedules.
  • Monitor National and Wisconsin political media.


Qualifications (Required):

  • Demonstrated Research Success - Has effectively researched complex topics which exhibits curiosity and self motivation to hone political instincts and grow within a campaign.
  • Multitasking In A Fast Paced Environment - able to work quickly without sacrificing accuracy and efficiently juggle multiple tasks.
  • Discretion and Sound Judgment - demonstrated ability to remain professional, confident and calm in uncomfortable, even hostile, situations.
