Role Overview
We are looking for:
Member of the North America NovaCare Industrial Process Solutions (IPS) R&I lab in Bristol, PA, you will manage a portfolio of innovation projects (short-, medium- and long-term) addressing segments that are strategic to the IPS Business Unit - Metal Cleaning and Metal Pre-treatment.
We count on you for:
  • Taking care of patent and literature surveys (articles, patents, product launches, …) in above cited segments
  • Training new team members to lab best practices, lab work and testing’s and ensure trainings to interns/co-ops/temps as well as their lab work following QHSE policies and processes
  • Writing technical reports to report technical developments
  • Identifying and launching product development projects in partnership with customers and in collaboration with business teams
  • Ensuring these projects deliver solutions in line with customers’ specifications and timelines including the conduction of lab experiments and evaluations under QHSE policies.
  • Interacting constantly with R&I teams in other zones, to facilitate innovation transfers across zones
  • Contributing to the development of technical skills (identifying new equipment to improve quality / efficiency of the R&I team, identifying new relevant training, congresses, academic lab to collaborate with, …)
  • Setting up projects in collaboration with business teams based in North America as well as in the other zones.
  • Implementing testing methods needed to develop and evaluate Metal Treatment application following QHSE processes and in collaboration with the labs located in LatAm, Europe and Asia - Managing maintenance of each lab equipment.
  • Supporting customers through product qualifications, quality claims, …
  • Involving all resources (outside of the team) that are key to project delivery (analytical teams, purchasing teams, industrial teams, regulatory teams, legal teams)
You will bring:
  • National and international geographic mobility
  • Lab experience in running lab test and developing new bench tests
  • Rigor, analytical thinking and ability to express complex topics in a concise way.
  • Recognized experience in project management
  • 3-7 years of experience (minimum) in the industry (inorganic surface modification, metal pre-treatment), with a real expertise in these fields, recognized by peers in the industry
  • Able to manage projects with different time scales (short-, medium- and long-term)
  • Knowledge of NovaCare products
  • Master’s Degree and or PhD specialized in surface or material science (surface modification, corrosion mechanisms, paint adhesion mechanisms on inorganic surfaces, adhesion mechanisms in general)
  • Good written and oral skills
  • Leadership, curiosity, creativity.
  • Strong customer orientation, high reactivity and proactivity

  • Since actual compensation packages are based on a variety of factors unique to each candidate we may ultimately pay more or less than the posted base salary range. Total compensation for this role also includes bonus and/or other incentives.

  • A knowledge in Metal Working Fluids (emulsions, neat oils), Metal Cleaning Fluids, Coatings (powders, e-coats, water-borne paints) and Adhesives would truly be an advantage.
