Fred Hutchinson Cancer Center is an independent, nonprofit organization providing adult cancer treatment and groundbreaking research focused on cancer and infectious diseases. Based in Seattle, Fred Hutch is the only National Cancer Institute-designated cancer center in Washington.

Responsibilities:
This position will work with a mentorship team based at the Fred Hutch/University of Washington and University of Zimbabwe. This Research Associate will:
  • Lead an ongoing collaboration with colleagues at the University of Zimbabwe to evaluate methods to improve care delivery to patients with HIV and cancer in this setting, with application to cancer settings across East and Southern Africa.
  • Travel between Seattle and Harare Zimbabwe is desired but not required.
  • Develop a pilot program to implement a set of strategies to improve delivery of concurrent HIV and cancer care and disseminate the findings of the program using scientific presentations and publications.
  • Coordinate the required ethics applications and protocol development, and oversee of a multi-component and mixed-methods epidemiology and implementation science program.
  • Lead a funded program to evaluate patient perspectives, barriers, and facilitators to obtaining concurrent HIV and cancer care in Zimbabwe.
Qualifications:
  • A track record of scholarly work, including peer reviewed publications
  • Experience with quantitative and qualitative analyses
  • Ability and willingness to conduct team science, including mentorship of local and international trainees
  • PhD or MD and substantial experience research experience in epidemiology and implementation science
  • Emerging subject-matter expertise in HIV and HIV-associated malignancies

The annual base salary range for this position is from $65,484 to $100,000 and pay offered will be based on experience and qualifications.
