Research Associate I/Ii

Position: Research Associate I/II

A position is immediately available within our Research group for a Research Associate I/II to support in vitro and vivo drug potency studies and assist existing research efforts. The successful candidate under the direction of a supervisor is responsible for data collection, analysis, and other in vitro and in vivo related tasks.

Responsibilities

• Requesting or acquiring equipment or supplies necessary for the project;
• Summarizing project results;
• Tissue harvesting and submitting samples for histology;
• Preparing, maintaining, and updating website materials;
• Collecting and analyzing data;
• Preparing other articles, reports, and presentations;
• Monitoring the project reagents and materials;
• Sterile tissue culture;
• RNA/DNA isolation from cells or tissues;
• Flow cytometry analysis;
• Performing PCR, qrt-PCR, or other basic molecular biology techniques; and
• Performing such other duties as may be assigned to you from time to time.
• Conducting literature reviews;
• Attending project meetings;
• Attending area seminars and other meetings as necessary;
• Managing and responding to project related emails;
• Summarizing experiment and data;
• Maintaining accurate records of data, safeguarding the confidentiality of subjects, as necessary;
• Preparing progress reports for the PI and PD, QC and manufacturing;
• Providing ready access to all experimental data for the team researcher and/or supervisor;

Requirements

• Excellent organizational skills
• CGMP experience preferred but not required
• Ability to multi-task and prioritize work
• Attention to detail
• 2+ years of sterile tissue culture experience preferred
• Ability to work in a dynamic environment
• Experience with flow cytometry, functional assays, DNA, RNA and protein analysis is preferred
• Cell culture and molecular biology skills are required
• Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work as part of a team and complete experiments, analyze data and provide results to end-users in a timely fashion is required
• Bachelor’s degree required; preferably in the biological sciences (or experience in biology research)
• Previous experience with handling small animals (e.g. rodents) is preferred
