Research Associate, Auto & Auto Parts



PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES


  • Coordinate, generate and maintain research reports, presentations and databases
  • Develop an expertise in the Automotive sector including automakers, electric vehicles, auto technology and suppliers.
  • Proactively identify operational risks/ control deficiencies in the business
  • Review and comply with Firm Policies applicable to your business activities
  • Support and answer client queries as they relate to the sector
  • Escalate operational risk loss events, control deficiencies and risks that you identify to your line manager and the relevant risk and control functions promptly
  • Provide research support to analyst as required
  • Incumbent is in the process of developing core Research Associate skills
  • Assist in the development and detailed modeling of company specific financial models


Job Specificationsand Qualifications


Basic Qualifications (Legislative Requirement)


  • NYSE Licensing Requirements – Series 7, 63, 86 & 87, SIE
  • Undergraduate degree or similar qualification with a focus on Business, Mathematics or other quantitative fields


Other Required Qualifications:


  • Excellent writing and communications skills
  • Good personal skills and the ability to work and coordinate effectively within a team environment
  • Superior customer service focus and attitude for internal and external clients
  • Previous exposure to capital markets or 1-2 years of experience within the Automotive sector a definite asset but not specifically necessary
  • Self starter - must be organized and able to work independently
  • Strong PC skills specifically in Microsoft Office applications and sourcing data from the internet and various technology publications
  • Ability to prioritize work and multi-task responsibilities
  • Ability to perform under pressure and meet time sensitive deadlines, sometimes for extended periods of time
  • Commitment to task and an attention to detail

  • Regular interaction with clients
  • Supporting Senior Analyst


KEY RELATIONSHIPS


  • Internal Clients including sales and trading
  • External clients as required


WORKING CONDITIONS


  • The work environment is based on a office/trading floor, thus little physical effort is required
  • The office environment can be a high stress environment that requires quick turnaround and decision making

The good-faith expected salary range for the above position is $100,00- $160,000 depending on factors including but not limited to the candidate’s experience, skills, registration status; market conditions; and business needs. This salary range does not include other elements of total compensation, including a discretionary bonus and benefits such as a 401(k) program with company-matching contributions; health, dental, vision, life and disability insurance; and paid time-off plan.
