Position Description
This position will support U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) environmental records management contracts from HGL's office in Phoenix, Arizona, with opportunities to travel nationwide. The applicant should have strong organizational skills as this position requires assistance with multiple USACE environmental records management contracts simultaneously. Applicant will assist with various aspects of project deliverables to include document review, coding, and preparation of hard copy and electronic documents for submittal to USACE.
Responsibilities/Duties
What You'll Be Doing
The person hired for this role will be responsible for:
  • Maintaining hard copy and electronic project files according to contract requirements.
  • Reviewing documents in accordance with established guidelines to identify privileged and personally identifiable information that will need to be redacted prior to release for public review.
  • Categorizing documents according to established Comprehensive, Environmental Response, Compensation, and Liability Act (CERCLA) records management categories for inclusion in Microsoft Access and web-based records management databases.
  • Conducting objective coding of documents into Microsoft Access and web-based records management databases to include the document date, author, recipient, type, title, and number of pages.
  • Performing other office- and position-specific duties as assigned.
  • Traveling to client job sites nationwide to review and organize environmental records according to the CERCLA process.
  • Compiling hard copy and electronic deliverables, which may include generating and applying hard copy box and document labels, verifying hyperlinks in Microsoft Excel indexes link to the correct documents, bookmarking PDFs, and preparing shipping labels.
Required Skills
WHAT YOU NEED TO BE SUCCESSFUL
The ideal candidate will need the following as a foundation for success in this role:
  • Strong analytical skills and a high level of attention to detail.
  • Ability to pass a background check to obtain a government-issued identification card to access records management databases.
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills with ability to prioritize work on multiple projects.
  • High level of professionalism.
  • Work effectively within a team-oriented environment.
  • Ability to lift up to 30 lbs.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite including Outlook, Access, Excel, and Word.
  • General knowledge of research methods.
  • Ability to perform basic research and analysis and prepare written summary of findings.
  • Bachelor's degree in a research-oriented field with 0 to 2 years of experience.
Preferred Skills
WHAT YOU NEED TO STAND OUT (
  • Experience working in a projectized organizational structure or environmental industry.
  • Experience with SharePoint.
  • Experience using Adobe Acrobat
