Employment Type: Full-time, Exempt

Are you ready to put down the wrenches and use your knowledge in an office setting? Do you have experience with JPRO or other vehicle diagnostic software? Do you have 3 or more years as a diesel technician?

If so, look no further. Noregon is currently looking for Technicians/Vehicle Electronic Specialists to join their team. Noregon’s Vehicle Electronic Specialist will support the company customer technical needs in diagnosing challenging electrical and mechanical issues via a phone support role. You will use your industry knowledge of diagnostic methods to give valuable feedback and input to technicians and industry professionals like yourself. You will be considered the company’s front line and make sure that customer value is maintained to the standards set forth by the company.

Key Responsibilities

  • Troubleshoot, diagnose and resolve diesel electronic and mechanical issues remotely.
  • Stay current with product upgrades, system information, and business updates.
  • Must be able to utilize and interpret various sources of vehicle documentation to predict the impact to a vehicle for a given vehicle failure point.
  • Must have a deep understanding of electronic vehicle systems and how they relate to one another.
  • Track and route support requests via computerized ticketing system and ensure that all resolutions are thoroughly doucumente
  • Must have a broad knowledge of other non-engine vehicle components, such as transmissions, brakes and aftertreatment controllers.
  • Research end-user questions.
  • Provide telephone support to end-users experiencing diesel electronic and mechanical issues.
  • Must have a thorough understanding and use of at least one of the OEM engine diagnostic applications such as Insite, ServiceMaxx, PTT, or DDDL.
  • Guide, with confidence and composure, end-users through corrective measures.
  • Must be comfortable with computers, wiring, and have a general understanding of what it takes to create a technology-based product.
  • Must have experience with additional diagnostic software application such as Service Ranger, Allison DOC, Bendix ACOM, or Wabco Toolbox.

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities:

  • Prefer ASE with strong Electronics skills.
  • Determination to deliver superior customer service.
  • Basic understanding of Windows operating system and software installation.
  • Fleet Service
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work with minimal supervision.
  • Must have a minimum of 3 years’ experience as a Diesel Technician with a major focus on diagnosing and repairing automotive, medium-duty, heavy-duty or commercial equipment in one or more of the following environments:
    • Fleet Service
    • Dealership
    • Independent Repair
  • Basic proficiency with MS Office and Internet applications.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Dealership
  • Ability to plan and organize day/week around multiple productive activities.
  • Independent Repair

Supervisory Responsibilities

  • This position will have no supervisory responsibilities.

Work Environment

  • Stable internet connection required.
  • This job requires operates in a home-office environment and requires dedicated workspace.

Education / Experience Required

  • OEM Certification preferred.
  • Associate’s degree in Automotive Technology or related field preferred.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to occasionally lift 20 pounds.
  • This is largely a sedentary role; however, some filing is required. This would require the ability to lift files, open filing cabinets and bend and stoop as necessary.

Travel Requirements

  • Up to 15%
