The Regulatory Specialist is responsible for completing all regulatory document request, maintaining an organized electronic environment, and assisting with compliance tasks related to applicable regulatory requirements within the Personal Care vertical.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities*
- Foster a robust safety culture
- Complete supplier and customer approval questionnaires.
- Participate in ongoing personal development opportunities
- Other duties and responsibilities as requested
- Assist in the implementation and continuous improvement of Responsible Distribution certification, including training, internal audits, and certification audits.
- Maintain regulatory and safety electronic databases
- Accurately complete customer regulatory request and documentation in a timely manner
- Assist in maintaining operating regulatory approvals (SQF, HAACP, Kosher, etc.)
- Provide auditing backup for other regulatory team members
- Ensure regulatory documents and reports are accurate, updated, available and submitted on time
- Work in close collaboration with our corporate regulatory, commercial, operations, and purchasing teams to comply with OSHA requirements
- Support and lead by example, Barentz' culture, values and fundamentals
Qualifications
- Strong problem solving, organizational skills, attention to detail, and communication skills
- Ability to remain calm and communicate effectively during high pressure situations
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to communicate effectively throughout the organization
- Previous experience (3+ years) in a regulatory/compliance role considered a plus
- Bachelor's Degree required, with a discipline in Chemistry or other sciences preferred
- Self-motivated, high energy, and engaging level of enthusiasm and positive outlook
- Familiarity with regulatory software (i.e. Datacor, Chempax, Sharepoint) as well as Quality Assurance programs
- Proficient use of Microsoft Office products including Word, Excel, Teams, Outlook
- Customer focused mentality, while balancing multiple priorities simultaneously
- Attention to detail, while multi-tasking and meeting turn-around times/deadlines
