POSITION OVERVIEW
The Regulatory Manager role is responsible for supporting CHT USA in understanding and complying with chemical and environmental regulations that pertain to various departments.
This role also requires the review of data to prepare submissions as required under chemical reporting regulations and agencies in the US and globally. Also, external coordination with regulatory bodies of private and public institutions will be necessary. Travel is required.
PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
• Provide research, interpretation, and summary of regulatory requirements relevant to regulated substances.
• Advise/train internal customers and departments on regulatory compliance issues which may include, but is not limited to:
o Existing products
o Changes to existing regulations
o Manufacturing methods
o Health safety
o Food, allergen, and sensitizer safety
o Other pertinent chemical regulations (ex – RoHS, Conflict Minerals, etc.)
• Respond to external customer regulatory requests in a timely manner.
• Work with, understand, and respond to existing, new and changing chemical regulations and requirements as defined by, but not limited to, the following agencies:
o OSHA/MiOSHA/VOSH
o FDA (including FDA regulated cosmetics and understanding of INCI names and database)
o EPA
o ECHA
o CEPA
o MDEQ, VADEQ
o Other pertinent chemical regulatory agencies
• Research and prepare regulatory reports and documents for internal and external review. Prepare any required submissions or reports needed by regulatory agencies.
• Ensure all products being imported to CHT USA meet US chemical registration requirements (TSCA/FIFRA). Register any necessary chemicals to meet business needs.
• Ensure all products to be exported meet the chemical registration requirements of the destination country (ex – REACH). Main regions of export are the EU, UK and China.
• Develop and maintain Quality, Regulatory, Product Information (QRPI) sheets.
• Participate in third party audits as needed.
• Maintain high quality standards and a continuously improving and innovative response to changing regulatory frameworks.
• Provide education and training on product compliance with regulations for sales, Client Development, and Business Development.
• Implement and/or maintain as appropriate associated ISO 9001/14001 documentation, policies and procedures.
• Author CHT USA Safety Data Sheets to ensure full compliance with US and other country requirements.
• Maintain the Wercs in accordance with most recent regulations by utilizing LOLI update tool.
• All other duties, as assigned
EDUCATION, TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
Education & Experience
o Masters or PhD in Chemistry (or related field) preferred, but not required
o B.S./B.A. in chemistry (or related field)
o 5-7 years of industrial chemistry experience
o 2-3 years of regulatory experience preferred
o ERP experience (preferred)
