The Division of Veterans Services (IDVS) is recruiting for a compassionate and motivated individual to join our team as a full-time Registered Nurse Senior-Minimum Data Set (MDS) Coordinator for the brand-new, state-of-the-art Veterans Home in Post Falls.

The ideal candidate conducts and coordinates the completion of required Resident Assessment Instrument (RAI) and is responsible for the implementation and ongoing evaluation of each resident’s comprehensive plan of care. Resident Assessment Coordinator (RAC) training must be completed within one year of hire. RAC Certification is preferred.

Responsibilities:

  • Scheduling and leading interdisciplinary care plan team meetings.
  • Accurate completion of all MDS assessments and any supporting assessments or clinical documentation.
  • Coordination of the facility’s Resident Assessment Instrument (RAI) process in accordance with state and federal regulations.
  • Auditing medical records for the presence of supporting documentation for all items coded on the MDS.
  • Provide education to department heads, physicians, and other staff as needed.
  • Collaborating with health plans, physicians, and the interdisciplinary team for assuring insurance approvals and/or that residents meet eligibility and coverage criteria.
  • Implementation and ongoing evaluation of each resident’s comprehensive plan of care.
  • Interpreting rules, regulations and coverage guidelines and acting as primary resource for problem solving in regard to the SNF prospective payment system and quality reporting program.
Performs professional nursing care that may include:
  • Care plan development
  • Case management
  • Charge nurse responsibilities
  • Client assessment
  • Clinical activities
  • Direct nursing services
  • Health education

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Experience: Performing nursing assessments and developing and implementing nursing care plans
  • Licensed as a Professional or Registered Nurse in Idaho as defined by Idaho Code 54-1408 or state licensure as a Registered Nurse pursuant to the Nurse Licensure Compact, Idaho Code 54-1418, in one of the following compact states: Arizona, Arkansas, Colorado, Delaware, Iowa, Kentucky, Maine, Maryland, Mississippi, Missouri, Nebraska, New Hampshire, New Mexico, North Carolina, North Dakota, Rhode Island, South Carolina, South Dakota, Tennessee, Texas, Utah, Virginia, or Wisconsin.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience as a Minimum Data Set (MDS) Coordinator.
  • Knowledge of the Resident Assessment Instrument (RAI) and Minimum Data Set (MDS) process.
  • Resident Assessment Coordinator (RAC) Certification.
