Registered Nurse (Rn) - Medical Education Clinic

Monday through Friday
Hours: 8:00 - 4:30 - no weekends, no holidays, no call
This position is 50% phone triage and 50% direct patient contact. This position requires 1-2 years of RN experience in a hospital setting.
The Saint Luke's Hospital Medical Education Internal Medicine Clinic (formerly Saint Luke’s Multispecialty Clinic) is an education-based clinic with a direct affiliation with the University of Missouri-Kansas City School of Medicine. Our focus is on treating the whole patient and meeting all of the patient’s needs within a single environment while providing medical students and residents an avenue for learning.
The RN II is accountable for utilizing the nursing process throughout the provision of patient/family care. The RN is responsible for delegating patient care tasks and for supervision of other patient care staff. The RN is responsible for coordinating the care of patients and consulting other disciplines of the health care team as indicated. The RN functions collaboratively with the medical staff and other disciplines to provide and enhance patient care. The RN adheres to all nursing policies and standards and proactively strives to maintain and improve quality outcomes. The RN is responsible for facilitating patient care, anticipating patient care needs, individualizing patient care and adjusting or modifying the nursing plan of care as appropriate. The RN will possess and utilize effective technical skills for the provision of safe and appropriate care (i.e. pharmacological knowledge, assessment skills, etc.)
This position is for an Internal Medicine teaching clinic so this RN must have the ability to work with multiple providers and must have excellent multi-tasking skills.
