If you are a current nursing student or recent nursing graduate and will obtain all nursing credentials within six (6) months, you are encouraged to apply!!


Applicants who are pending earned degrees within six (6) months may upload an unofficial copy of your transcript as an attachment to the application. The agency will require an official, certified copy of the transcript prior to hiring.


Applicants with pending degrees are considered contingent until their graduation, successful completion of National Council Licensure Examination (NCLEX) if new graduate, and review of official transcripts. Offers will be rescinded if required information is not received within six (6) months from the application date.


Job Duties


  • Assists with screening and physical assessment of campers on check-in days at Camp Burnt Gin as assigned by supervisor.
  • Identifies family needs and priorities for children seeking or receiving CYSHCN services and formulates plan of care.
  • Functions as member of interdisciplinary team responsible for delivery of child/family-specific CYSHCN services.
  • Participates in development and review of CYSHCN policies and procedures related to delivery of CYSHCN services (as requested by regional CYSHCN coordinator).
  • Provides clinical consultation to CYSHCN members.
  • Determines eligibility for financial assistance according to CYSHCN policy manual, authorizes services for eligible persons as needed.
  • Serves as care coordinator for assigned caseload nad implements plan of care through visits with family.
  • Documents care/services when provided per agency policies/procedures.
  • Maintains clinical competency as required by Office of Public Health Nursing relevant to practice and disaster preparedness.
  • Represents office or region on committees, workgroups, and community events as assigned.
  • Continuous Quality Improvement (CQI):
  • Collects, analyzes, and reports on characteristics of assigned caseload, services provided and outcomes.
  • Assists with Medical Needs Shelter (MNS) operations, maintains supportive nursing practice competencies to include,
  • Participates in periodic reviews of caseload during CYSHCN team review of persons served.
  • Management:


but not limited to, intramuscular, subcutaneous, and intradermal best practice injection administration, oral medication


administration, and client emergency response including First Aid, CPR and AED, and be willing and available to assist during


times of public health emergency and outbreak response efforts.


Minimum And Additional Requirements


State Minimum Requirements: Licensure as a registered nurse by the South Carolina Board of Nursing. Some positions require a valid driver's license. Also, some positions require certification in Basic Life Support and/or Basic/Advanced Cardiac Life Support. Graduation from an accredited school of nursing.


Institutions of Higher Learning must be recognized by the Council for Higher Education Accreditation.


Agency Additional Requirements: Graduated from an accredited school of nursing and related nursing experience. A Bachelor of Science in Nursing and current licensure as a Registered Nurse by the State Board of Nursing for South Carolina or a compact state.


IMMUNIZATION REQUIREMENTS: All new employees who are healthcare providers with job-specific exposure risk are required to provide documentation of immunity or be immunized against measles, mumps, rubella, pertussis, varicella, and Hepatitis B prior to beginning employment.
