This is a part-time position to work 12 hours shifts including days, evenings, nights, weekends and statutory holidays. The RN provides direct care to patients within the framework of the Registered Nurse. The RN will work in collaboration with and interact with all members of the Intensive Care Unit multidisciplinary team and other personnel. The RN demonstrates professional responsibility, and is accountable for own practice. Demonstrates actions consistent with hospital policies and procedures.


The physical demands of the role may include but are not limited to sitting, standing, walking, pushing, pulling, lifting and bending. The RN contributes to ensuring there is a safe environment for patients, staff and visitors. Other duties as per job fact sheet.

Skills and Qualifications


  • Good communication skills (both written and verbal) essential
  • Critical Care Program certificate required
  • Current Certificate of Registration with the College of Nurses in Ontario (CNO) as a Registered Nurse in good standing required
  • Keyboarding skills and knowledge of Meditech and OmniCell would be a definite asset
  • Demonstrated ability to attend work on a regular basis is required
  • Two (2) years’ of current experience in ICU required
  • BCLS, ACLS required
  • Certifications for ECG, defibrillation, intravenous certification, IV medication, epidural, and pulmonary artery monitoring required
  • Excellent physical assessment skills required
  • Diploma or Baccalaureate degree in Nursing required
  • Problem solving ability and crisis intervention skills required
  • As per the O.N.A. Collective Agreement, all O.N.A. members (full-time, part-time & casual) are eligible to apply for this position.
