Under the direct supervision of the Operational Manager of the Regional Leadership Team, the Registered Nurse (Health Department Manager) would manage the direct and indirect supervision to staff in the designated site. Responsible for supervision of all staff in the site. Coordinate clinic operations to ensure management, supervision, leadership, and customer service if met per the program objectives and outcomes.
Site Supervision:
  • This position may require standing and periodically lifting up to thirty (30) pounds.
  • Provide direct and indirect supervision to staff in the designated site.
  • Coordinate clinic operations to ensure management, supervision, leadership, and customer service meet program objectives and outcomes.
  • Responsible for the training of staff, work with appropriate discipline on practice issues.

Leadership/Management:
  • Direct, provide clinical, and community services within the sites of the region as needed.
  • Assist with personnel issues as appropriate.

Planning:
  • Direct and coordinate the necessary planning for the provision of clinic and community services.
  • Utilize the Client Automated Record Encounter System (CARES) and other data as necessary.

Time Management/Employee Performance
Manage Staff's Annual Evaluation and Weekly Time/Leave Approval(s):
  • Manage direct reports weekly time and leave request(s)
  • Evaluate all direct reports annually through the South Carolina Enterprise Information System's (SCEIS) employee performance management portal.

Public Health Emergency Preparedness (PHEP):
  • Assist with Medical Needs Shelter (MNS) operations, maintain supportive nursing practice competencies to include, but not limited to, intramuscular, subcutaneous, and intradermal best practice injection administration, oral medication administration, and client emergency response including First Aid, CPR and AED, and be willing and available to assist during times of public health emergency response.
  • Ensure staff are trained and prepared to respond to emergencies.

State Minimum Requirements: Licensure as a registered nurse by the South Carolina Board of Nursing. Some positions require a valid driver's license. Also, some positions require certification in Basic Life Support and/or Basic/Advanced Cardiac Life Support. Graduation from an accredited school of nursing.

Institutions of Higher Learning must be recognized by the Council for Higher Education Accreditation.

Agency Additional Requirements:

Licensure as a registered nurse by the South Carolina Board of Nursing. Some positions require a valid driver's license. Also, some positions require certification in Basic Life Support and/or Basic/Advanced Cardiac Life Support. Graduation from an accredited school of nursing.

Must have current driver's license or ability to obtain transportation. May be required to use personal vehicle. BLS/CPR certification must be obtained within thirty (30) days of hire and must maintain competency. Must be able to lift 30 pounds and stand for long periods. May be required to work evenings (after 5pm) and/or Saturday clinics. May be able to travel to other sites within the Region.

Driving Record: If this position requires the applicant to possess a valid driver’s license to operate a state vehicle or personal vehicle, any applicant being considered in the final stages of selection for the position will be required to provide a certified copy of a 10-year driving record.
