What You Will Work On


Based in Memphis, TN, the Regional Transportation Manager(s) within Last Mile, will own the planning and execution of the delivery of NIKE products to NIKEs Digital consumers and customers, of a particular region while providing leadership and development to their teams, while also ensuring all deliveries are made on time and budget. In this role, you will own the day-to-day relationship with Logistics Service Providers (LSPs) on the critical metrics that measure the performance against agreed-upon service standards. This role plays a significant role in Digital Peak season including carrier capacity planning, forecasting, and performance reporting. The ability to drive continuous improvement and innovations while reducing expense, improving quality, and increasing speed is critical to this role. Additionally, you will provide leadership support to the Distribution Centers, assuring that all facility and organizational digital initiatives, targets, and objectives are met or exceeded. You will interact with Omnichannel Transportation for a strategy on consumer-focusing initiatives and work closely with LSP Management to conduct business reviews based on service level agreements. This team will partner very closely with Marketplace Operations (MPO) Digital team to build flex capacity solutions to meet and exceed consumer and customers demands.


You will lead a growing team in a dynamic operational environment, to consistently exceed established goals, demonstrate a commitment to customers and a dedication to excellence and continuous improvement. The team will identify and recommend distribution network and process changes that correct deviations from expected results. Will work collectively to meet the committed service levels to all key partners, both internal and external (customers) while reducing transportation costs. You will seek out, introduce, and apply industry 'standard methodologies' with a focus on efficiency and sustainability.


KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:


  • Initiate, develop, and implement continuous improvement activities to improve operating metrics and performance, specifically related to cost, service, and compliance for domestic freight movement (e.g., mode optimization, carrier selection)
  • Provide domestic operations guidance and expertise to NASC partners to oversee new initiatives (e.g., Accelerate)
  • Partner with Transportation Strategy & Analytics and LSP Management to develop and maintain standardized performance metrics for all domestic carrier scorecards
  • Lead daily carrier performance and ensure all requirements are met for outbound shipping (SLAs, shipping supplies, and systems) raise issues to LSP Management
  • Identify and implement opportunities to minimize outbound capacity constraints by improving issues in key city markets
  • Responsible for Ship from Store execution/operationalization in partnership with the Regional Outbound Transportation team
  • Develop Holiday/Peak season operational plans with Digital DCs to enhance capacity needs and to ensure on-time performance
  • Serve as Transportation liaison between Market Place Operations, National and Regional Carriers, and NIKEs Distribution Centers to ensure alignment and fulfillment of NIKEs premium service promise
  • Use performance reports to measure and drive carrier service improvements to consumers
  • Maintain service, cost, and operational key performance indicators and dashboards
  • Lead the implementation of logistics and transportation strategies/systems along with the Omnichannel Transportation and Strategy & Analytics teams
  • Open to work in LA, Dallas, Indianapolis, and Philadelphia
  • Support the operationalization of new Transportation initiatives (post-pilot)


What You Bring


  • Experience working across all levels, from front-line associates to senior-level leaders
  • Bachelor's Degree in business or a related field (e.g., Supply chain Management, Transportation, Operations Management) or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • 5+ years of Transportation experience supervising, evaluating, mentoring, and developing team members running workload and participating in the hiring and promotion of employees
  • Experience being accountable for cost, quality, and service performance and for making decisions when trade-offs are required
  • Experience driving performance through metrics and using data for process improvement
  • Ability to interpret carrier rates, contracts, and tariffs and experience in the use of distribution strategies such as sortation, hub bypass, and zone skipping
  • Proven track record in direct support of transportation/Transportation operations in an E-Commerce supply chain environment and use of project management tools and methodologies is required
  • Transportation/E-Commerce experience
  • Excellent people skills and experience making group presentations


The annual base salary for this position ranges from $98,000 in our lowest geographic market to $192,500 in our highest geographic market.


Actual salary will vary based on a candidate's location, qualifications, skills and experience.
