Recreational Therapist (Ctrs) Jobs

Signet Health is actively interviewing Certified Recreation Therapists to join the Behavioral Health team at our program with Owensboro Health Twin Lakes Medical Center, Leitchfield, KY.

An experienced therapist is needed to design and implement a variety of activity therapies to foster effective interactions, enhance coping skills, cognitive functioning, reality orientation and prioritizing independence in caring for self.

Signet Health is not an agency but is a USA-wide behavioral health management program that works with hospitals setting up behavioral health programs, addiction programs, and SOPs.

The successful candidate for the activities position will be energetic, passionate, and creative.

Job Responsibilities

• Ensures that documentation of care and patient responses are accurate, complete, specific, and timely.
• Evaluates each patient's progress and the effectiveness of recreational therapy interventions.
• Provides patient and their family with information regarding leisure lifestyles and creates an awareness of recreational resources in their community.
• Conducts assessments and establishes recreational therapy treatment goals and objectives to meet the individual needs of the patient.
• Coordinates therapeutic recreation activities for both large and small groups to observe patient responses and encourage socialization.

This is a hospital-based position will all benefits and compensation provided by the hospital.

Qualifications

• Certification by the National Council for Therapeutic Recreation required. Music, movement, or art therapists - welcome to apply.
• Must demonstrate ability by education or training in treating people with mental/psychiatric illness.
• BLS - Certified as a Basic Life Support Healthcare Provider required within 90 days of employment in this position
