Crane Aerospace & Electronics is seeking to hire a Receiving Inspector in Lynnwood, WA .
Receiving Inspection evaluates a variety of products such as printed wire boards (PWB’s), connectors, electrical components, and standard fabricated parts for conformance against engineering drawings, workmanship standards, Source Control drawings, specification drawings.
Duties / Responsibilities
  • Write Non-conformance Reports if parts are rejected and elevate to Preliminary Review board or Material Review board when necessary
  • Review all paperwork required by the Purchase Order/receipt traveler for completeness and accuracy, including Certificate of Compliance meets all of the required specification requirements
  • Review supplier first article reports for completeness per AS9102 requirements and audit several characteristics to substantiate accuracy
  • Understand, interpret, relate and instruct others on industry and military specifications which relate to products
  • Able to interpret drawings and part specifications
  • Proficient in GDT dimensions/measurements
  • Verify product compliance of standard fabricated parts, such as pins, terminals, standoffs, nuts, bolts, screws, washers and sleeves for proper dimensions, finish, corrosion, damage or other similar conditions using calipers, thread gages, micro-hite, and other appropriate measuring instruments or similar complexity
  • Work with functional organizations including manufacturing, manufacturing engineering and design engineering to resolve deficiencies noted during inspections.
  • Ensure Supplier is approved for the type of product being received per the Supplier Type List
  • Review any rejection reports on previously received parts/materials. Note discrepancies, stated causes, and corrective action. Use this information to indicate possible problem areas.
  • Able to work with complex machined parts using CMM, micro-hite and other complex inspection tools
  • Train and instruct lower level Receiving Inspectors
Minimum Requirements
Experience :
  • Minimum of 5-7 years as a Receiving Inspector or 5 years’ experience as senior Inspector of mechanical equipment
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities
  • Ability to work effectively with team members and communicate with suppliers and all levels of Management
  • Competence to perform inspections using calipers, thread gages, scales, micro-hite
  • Knowledge of basic mechanical Inspection tools
  • Familiarity with PC Sills, including Word, Excel, and Oracle
Eligibility Requirement
  • This position requires access to controlled data or information and therefore only US persons will be considered. As a US Department of Defense contractor, we are bound by International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR).
Working Conditions
  • Requires lifting 25 lbs
  • Occasional travel to other sites and companies for training and certification
  • Working unscheduled overtime as dictated by business demand.
  • Working conditions are normal for a manufacturing environment. Machinery operation requires the use of safety equipment to include, but not limited to, safety glasses, heel straps, and shop coats.

Salary range: $26.02 to $32.72.
