- Updates patron records, answers questions, and troubleshoots patron problems as needed.
- Serves as support to TBS Reader Advisors by assisting patrons by phone or in person in ordering materials.
- Serves as support for the Assistive Technology Petting Zoo and other outreach initiatives.
- Processes TBS applications and sets up KLAS accounts.
- Serves as liaison and/or backup staffer for various departmental tasks and activities. Performs other duties as assigned.
- Participates in collection development.
- Assists with TBS information and awareness initiatives such as information packet mailings and delivery, contacting local and statewide community stakeholders, and representing TBS at exhibit booths, conferences, and other educational and awareness events.
- Assists SC public libraries in understanding appropriate assistive technology and TBS user options for their patrons.
- Assists with cataloging duties and all other bibliographic record-keeping tasks in KLAS and any other related systems.
- Visits libraries, agencies, and individuals to display and demonstrate various equipment.

- A high school diploma and relevant library experience. A bachelor’s degree may be substituted for work experience.
- Excellent customer service skills with the ability to interact courteously and effectively with internal and external customers.
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships.
- Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing with all levels of staff and management.
- Two (2) years of library experience working with patrons.
- Ability to exercise judgment and discretion.
- Excellent organizational skills, attention to detail and the ability to handle multiple projects and meet deadlines under limited supervision.
