Job Description

Department: Department: Diagnostic Imaging
Work Hours: 24/ 7 coverage, Holidays, rotating weekends

The Radiologic technologist is responsible for performing radiologic procedures at Heritage Valley Health System. Radiographs must be diagnostic and of high quality, performed in an efficient and productive manner, while providing a high level of patient care. The technologist must perform at a level of competence that does not require constant supervision of technical detail. The technologist must have an understanding of technical equipment, protocols, and procedures to apply prescribed ionizing radiation for radiologic diagnosis. Must demonstrate professionalism, work compatibly and communicate effectively with radiologists, technologists, and students. Must have the ability and poise to deal with multiple types of situations and must be flexible and adaptable to change.

Requirements

  • Must be a high school graduate.
  • Must be registered by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists, or must be registry eligible. If registry eligible, successful completion of the registry must occur within 6 months of the date of hire.
  • Must be a graduate of an accredited school of radiologic technology.

Successful completion of applicable clearances as outlined in Human Resources policy HR- 106 within 90 days of commencing employment.

Preferred

  • EKG’s in an outpatient setting
  • Experience performing bone density studies and ISCD certification
  • Phlebotomy in an outpatient setting
  • Registration functionality
