Pay Range
$36.50 - $45.32 Hourly
Please note that the pay range information is a general guideline only. Many factors are taken into consideration when setting starting pay including education, experience, the external labor market, and internal equity.

We have an opening for an X-ray Medical Assistant in the Environmental Safety and Health (ES&H) Directorate, supporting the Health Services Department (HSD). This role will provide clinical x-ray services and oversite for the radiography program. This individual would also interact with patients and multidisciplinary health and safety professionals.
You will
Provide clinical x-ray services according to applicable procedures.
Participate in HSD Radiology Program while ensuring Accreditation Association for Ambulatory Health Care (AAAHC) requirements are in place.
Responsible for maintaining the standards of the x-ray unit in accordance with State and Federal guidelines, including assisting in State audits and AAAHC audits involving the x-ray.
Interact with patients as a medical assistant including performing and documenting measurements of height, weight, blood pressure, pulse, temperature, respirations, and body fat.
Perform and accurately document spirometry, audiometry, vision, and electrocardiogram tests as well as medical assistance in Treatment Area.
Prepare patients and exam rooms for physical examinations.
Ensure readiness of Treatment Area (calibrate, equipment maintenance, supplies, etc.).
Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. DOE Q-level security clearance which requires U.S. Citizenship.
Associate degree in health-related field or Equivalent combination of education (including certifications) and related experience.
Limited California X-ray certification and experience providing clinical X-ray services.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills necessary to interact effectively with patients and multidisciplinary health professions and represent the organization with all levels of management, using tact, diplomacy, and discretion.
Analytical, decision making, and problem-solving skills including the ability to interpret data and report results.
Experience working in a fast-paced, time-sensitive environment, exercising discretion and sound judgment.
Willingness and ability to learn new responsibilities.
Qualifications We Desire
Certification in performing audiogram and spirometry medical testing.
Certification as a Phlebotomist and certification as a Medical Assistant.

Position Information
This is a Flexible Term appointment, which is for a definite period not to exceed six years. If final candidate is a Career Indefinite employee, Career Indefinite status may be maintained (should funding allow).
