POSITION SUMMARY:
OSAM is hiring a Quantitative Developer / Software Developer to join our Research/Quant Technology team. The ideal candidate will have demonstrated a passion for solving business problems with technology and possess strong programming experience. This position is a hands-on role responsible for developing, supporting, and maintaining firmwide research, investment, risk, performance and trading data-rich platform supported by applications, APIs, and visualization tools. This is an excellent opportunity for candidates with a strong technical background and excellent communication skills to interface directly with OSAM’s research team and CIO.
We anticipate this position sitting in Stamford, CT or New York, NY with a hybrid work schedule (partially remote), but we may be open to hiring in other geographic locations.
What are the ongoing responsibilities of a Quant Developer?
  • Build robust data pipelines from many sources of varied levels of data quality, supporting both research demands, ad-hoc client analytic requests, and the core production applications.
  • Work directly with the Researchers to integrate & optimize research data processes and models as well as with the Performance team to automate generation of performance, tax alpha, and attribution data points
  • Design and develop cloud-native solutions in C#/Python/SQL to promote consistency of use of the Firmwide data platform across numerous analytical tools.
What ideal qualifications, skills & experience would help someone to be successful?
  • Quick learner with the ability to adapt quickly and work in a dynamic environment
  • Working knowledge working with Windows environments and cloud-based technologies (Azure)
  • 2+ years of prior professional programming experience (preferred)
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field of study. Advanced degree a plus
  • Strong analytical skillset with demonstrated attention to detail
  • Excellent communication skills to be able to interact with a wide range of users ranging from very technical (quants) to non-technical
  • Some C# and SQL experience required
Additional desired experience:
  • Experience working in a financial services company, ideally in asset management required
  • SQL Server experience
  • Experience with DevOps practices, including CI/CD, and infrastructure-as-code
Along with base compensation, other compensation is offered such as a discretionary bonus, 401k plan, health insurance, and other perks. There are several factors taken into consideration in making compensation decisions including but not limited to location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. At Franklin Templeton, we apply a total reward philosophy where all aspects of compensation and benefits are taken into consideration in determining compensation. We expect the salary for this position to range between USD $128,100 - $150,800.
