Job Description
Overview:
The Quality Supervisor is responsible for ensuring timely and effective implementation of policies, procedures, and activities involved in assuring the quality of products. She/he maintains close working relationships with other department managers and supervisory personnel to effectively manage the quality workforce to meet and maintain product quality, identify, solve, and prevent problems affecting product quality, maximize productivity, and comply with regulatory requirements.
Major Position Responsibilities:
  • Direct activities of people, material, equipment, supplies and inspection tooling resources to achieve production goals.
  • Provide information to appropriate levels of the organization through oral and written communication.
  • Collaboration with all Supervisors to coordinate daily plans and utilization.
  • Provide opportunities and direction for development of subordinates regarding professional growth and succession planning.
  • Initiate or suggest plans to motivate assigned personnel to achieve production schedules and objectives.
  • Other duties as requested.
  • Work constructively in, promote, and facilitate a team environment towards the attainment of departmental and company goals.
  • Performs annual employee performance evaluation and reviews.
  • Interpret, communicate, promote and enforce adherence to company policies.
  • Prioritize and assign tasks in accordance with daily production requirements and deliveries.
  • Ensure adherence to safety policies and operating procedures.
  • Effectively plan and coordinate work schedules regarding vacation, sick time, etc.
  • Manage and measure proficiency of assigned personnel in the performance of job duties through coaching, counseling and corrective actions, and evaluation of performance.
Basic Qualifications:
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to influence and mentor.
  • HS diploma or GED
  • Strong technical and/or manufacturing aptitude (ability to read and comprehend engineering and technical documentation, e.g. engineering drawings etc.)
  • Proficient in blueprint reading and GD&T
  • 5-7 years of supervision and product inspection or related experience.
  • Proficient in the use of software products such as MS Office and spreadsheets.
  • Experience with the machining/inspection of various types of materials
