Position Overview:
The software quality team manager is responsible for building and running a world-class software quality team that supports the Siemens Digital Industries Software marketing technology application set. This team leader will work directly with their team of quality engineers to provide critical quality functions to a product delivery organization that includes product management, development, design, and operations. While the initial focus will be on building out software lifecycle quality functions, over time the vision for the team includes other areas such as data quality, experience quality, service quality and content quality. The ideal candidate will have led a software quality organization in a matrixed product delivery organization before either as a direct manager or a team leader.

Key Functions:
The software quality team manager is responsible for:
  • Leading and managing the software quality team. This includes setting objectives, providing guidance, and coaching, and
  • Defining and executing the quality strategy to include elements of software lifecycle quality, data quality, experience quality, content quality and service quality.
overseeing the team's day-to-day activities.
  • Defining quality standards and ensuring that they are met. This includes developing quality assurance processes, procedures,
and standards that ensure the software meets or exceeds customer expectations.
  • Focusing on building a suite of automated tests that will be used for regression testing in a larger CI/CD framework.
  • Creating and maintaining documentation that outlines the quality standards, processes, and procedures. This includes
developing test plans, test cases, and test scripts, as well as creating reports that document the results of testing activities.
  • Conducting audits to ensure that the software quality standards and processes are being followed. This includes reviewing
documentation, testing results, and other relevant data to identify areas for improvement.
  • Coordinating testing activities, including planning and executing tests, managing test environments, and ensuring that defects
are tracked and resolved.
  • Communicating with stakeholders about the quality of the software. This includes providing regular updates on testing
activities, test results, and any issues that arise.
  • Identifying and managing risks that could impact the quality of the software. This includes identifying potential issues early in
the development cycle and implementing measures to mitigate those risks.
  • Providing feedback to the development team on issues that are identified during testing. This includes working with developers
to address issues and improve the overall quality of the software.

  • Strong leadership skills: A software quality team manager should be able to lead, motivate, and manage a team of quality
assurance professionals effectively.
  • Excellent communication skills: A software quality team manager should have strong written and verbal communication skills
to effectively communicate with team members, stakeholders, and developers.
  • Technical knowledge: A software quality team manager should have a solid understanding of software development processes
and methodologies, as well as testing strategies and techniques.
  • Analytical skills: A software quality team manager should have strong analytical skills to analyze data, identify trends, and
make data-driven decisions.
  • Attention to detail: A software quality team manager should have a keen eye for detail to identify potential issues that could
impact the quality of the software.
  • Problem-solving skills: A software quality team manager should have strong problem-solving skills to identify and address
issues that arise during the development and testing process.
  • Project management skills: A software quality team manager should have strong project management skills to plan and
manage testing activities effectively.
  • Adaptability: A software quality team manager should be able to adapt to changing project requirements, priorities, and
timelines.
  • Collaboration: A software quality team manager should be able to work collaboratively with developers, testers, and other
stakeholders to ensure that the software meets quality standards.
  • Continuous learning: A software quality team manager should be committed to continuous learning to stay up-to-date with the
latest technologies, methodologies, and trends in software quality assurance.

Minimum Qualifications:
  • Solid experience working in a software development environment across multiple products
  • Exemplary written and verbal communications
  • 2+ years’ work experience as a software quality team manager
  • Strong technical background including using or creating automated test frameworks
  • Bachelor’s degree

Preferred Qualifications:
  • 5+ years’ work experience as a software quality team manager for a marketing technology company
  • Bachelor’s degree in Software Engineering, Computer Science or related field.
  • Solid experience working with marketers

The salary range for this position is $116,900 to $210,400 and this role is eligible to earn incentive compensation. The actual compensation offered is based on the successful candidate’s work location as well as additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education/training.
