About The Quality Inspector Position
We are looking for a Quality Inspector who wants to work in a hands-on production environment at a clean, climate-controlled facility manufacturing parts for the aerospace industry.
You should possess strong attention to detail, and be committed to compliance with applicable specifications, workmanship standards and regulations.
Logistics
This is a full time, hands-on position in the factory (not a remote role) located at:
55 38th St, Pittsburgh, PA 15201.
First Shift working hours are 7:00 AM – 3:30 PM.
Second Shift working hours are 3:00 PM-11:30 PM.
Responsibilities
Perform inspection of incoming, in-process and outgoing product:
Read and interpret technical drawings and specifications for part inspection
Use measurement and test equipment (e.g., calipers, thread gages, profilometers, CMM, etc.)
Complete inspection records as required
CMM programming skills in PC-DMIS are a plus
Assist With Control Of Nonconforming Products
Identification, segregation, communication, problem solving, and disposition as required
Assist in continual improvement efforts.
Requirements
General:
Command of the English language and ability to communicate with others
Compliance with the QMS, AS9100D:2016, ISO 9001:2015 and other applicable requirements
Education + Experience in production quality or machinist trades preferred:
Trade School certificate -or-
Vo-Tech School certificate -or-
AA/AS Technology -or-
High School Diploma or equivalent + 2 years of experience
Necessary Attributes
Ability to read and understand blueprints/technical drawings (knowledge of GD&T)
Experience with hand tools (micrometers, calipers, etc.)
Physical Demands
Inspector is required to sit, stand, walk, reach high/low with hands/arms, stoop, kneel, and crouch
May occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds; use material handling equipment for heavier objects
