Position Overview:
The Quality Control Technician position is responsible for testing asphalt and aggregates while following safety and operational guidelines. This is a full-time position that requires overtime through peak season, reports to the Quality Control Director, and has no supervisory responsibility.

General Duties and Functions:
- Additional duties as assigned by management, as this job description is non-exhaustive
- Actively participate in any recommended or mandatory training
- Willingness to perform duties outside the normal scope of work (i.e. work in poor weather conditions or outside normal hours)
- Consistently keep the office clean and organized to promote professionalism, safety, and efficiency
- Be aware of and familiar with the Company Handbook
- Be prompt and timely for all assigned shifts, schedules, and projects
Essential Duties and Functions:
- Perform field and lab testing on aggregates and asphalt
- Maintain Quality Control field and laboratory equipment
- Assist plants during production
- Maintain Quality Control recordkeeping
- Understand mix designs, asphalt content, batching/mixing processes, Quality Control documentation, etc.
- Complete site visits to production facilities to monitor the quality of products
- Maintain safe practices at all times and report injuries to management as necessary
- Maintain good relations with plant personnel, customers, engineering technicians, supervisors, etc.
- Troubleshoot, identify, correct, and prevent quality control issues
- Train production personnel on basic concrete testing procedures such as air, slump, temperature, etc.
- Maintain a daily diary of Quality Control operations
Position Requirements:
- Consent to authorization of a pre-employment work screen, Motor Vehicle Record request, and drug test
- Strong mathematical skills (i.e. Add, Subtract, Multiply, Divide)
- OSHA Training
- Microsoft Office Skills
- Basic level of reasoning abilities (i.e. Meeting deadlines, Prioritize Company and customer needs, serving as a leader to both peers and direct reports)
- Preferred state DOT Certifications
Physical Requirements:
- Gross manipulation (pinching)
