Job Description
Job Summary


Industry leading, very reputable and growing manufacturing company is looking for a Quality Control Supervisor in the Jackson, Mississippi area. This is not a remote or hybrid position, all candidates must be willing to work 100% of the time in a manufacturing plant environment.


This role comes with a very competitive compensation plan commensurate with experience with a base salary ranging from $70k to $80k plus a quarterly bonus opportunity and relocation assistance.


All candidates must be legally authorized to work in the U.S.

Responsibilities


Always maintain the highest standards with respect to safety, leading by example and ensuring employees follow all policies, procedures, practices, and regulations.


  • Interface with inspectors from local grading agencies when they are on site.
  • Assist in managing Product mix changes and optimization pricing.
  • Maintain and utilize all production optimization systems to maximize lumber values, grade, and recovery.
  • Identify opportunities to improve lumber and grade recoveries.
  • Work closely with production and maintenance staff in resolving quality issues.
  • Supervise all aspects of the quality control program at the facility.
  • Oversee actions and follow-up on "Out-of-Spec" situations throughout the site.
  • Oversee results of daily QC audit and surveys.


What You Offer


  • Detailed practical knowledge of lumber grading rules and practices.
  • A minimum 3-5 years of experience in Quality Control.
  • Commitment to high Safety and Environmental Standards.
  • Optimization management skills.
  • Minimum high school diploma and preferably post-secondary degree in a related field.
  • Possess excellent interpersonal, team building, and communication skills.
  • Understanding of lumber manufacturing principles and processes considered an asset.
  • Computer skillset with a proficiency with Microsoft Office.
  • Experience in optimization technology.
  • Troubleshooting, analytical, and problem-solving skills
  • Organizational and time management skills.
