The organization's risk management structure is designed to promote effective governance and risk management that is systematic, transparent, credible, timely, and verifiable through clear delineation and execution of key roles and responsibilities. Its goal is to assess and/or manage risks that may impact the company, including credit, financial, liquidity, market, operational, reputational, strategic, and other risks as appropriate.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Post-funding Quality Control (PFQC) review of statistical, stratified and targeted loan samples of Retail and third party originated (TPO) mortgage loan production. Also, review of early payment default (EPD) loans. File review includes analyzing overall loan quality by re-calculation and re-verification of income/employment, assets and credit history, and loan file documentation review, and ensuring U.S. Bank Home Mortgage and investor guidelines are followed. PFQC audits may also include review of appraisals and ordering field review appraisals and other collateral valuations as required. Other duties may include PFQC file and document retention, investor notifications, interacting with Corporate and other external audits, and additional audits outside the normal monthly Post-funding QC audit scope.
Requirements and Education:
- Proficient with Microsoft Excel and Word.
- Thorough knowledge of Freddie Mac, Fannie Mae, FHA, VA and USDA guidelines and requirements preferred, as well as mortgage banking regulations and compliance, and mortgage loan documentation requirements.
- Bachelor's degree, or equivalent work experience
- Minimum 5 years mortgage banking experience in processing, underwriting or quality control/quality assurance audit, or business degree with 2-3 years mortgage banking production, underwriting, processing or quality control/assurance experience.
