Job Description
Position Overview:

The Qualified Intellectual Disability Professional (QIDP) is responsible for the overall effective development, implementation and support of the person supported road map to leading the meaningful life they choose to live. The QIPD is responsible for ensuring each plan is developed and supports Person Centered Thinking and Planning. The QIDP will help to lead teams in creating meaningful activities and valued outcomes for persons supported in the areas of community integration; socialization; recreation, volunteerism and mindful motivation. Promote, research and provide activities that further enrich people’s lives, while providing options in both the program setting and community environments. The QIDP ensures that services provided by the DSPs are properly documented and adhere to all OPWDD data collection regulations to ensure proper billing of services render. The QIDP is to support DSPs in increasing their knowledge and ability to capture service and experiences provided via training and modeling. The incumbent will support Program Directors during periods of high demand and will provide ongoing coaching and opportunities for learning to the DSPs


This position has a maximum salary of $58.500


Person Centered Planning

  • Promotes participation in activities of meaningful daily living, such as vocation, recreation, volunteerism, engagement.
  • Provides opportunities for people support to personalize their environment, schedule and experiences in program.
  • Ensures a positive climate that promotes respect and dignity for people supported.
  • Ensures that a person-centered focus is used to provide care and support by all staff who work within the program actively seeking out different approaches.
  • Provides prompt, efficient, and personalized support to meet requirements, requests, and concerns.
  • Supports the person’s independence, choice and outcomes.

Regulatory

  • Follow-up with Care Coordination Organizations within 2 weeks of Life Plan meetings, requesting plans
  • Develop Staff Action Plans (SAP) in accordance with services outlined in each person’s Life Plan by developing valued outcomes that are person-centered, meaningful and meet the wants and needs of the person served
  • Ongoing training and support to new/veteran staff and management in regards to compliance and person-centered practices through observations; role modeling and problem-solving.
  • Provide ongoing training to staff and management on plans as well as when billing issues are identified
  • Assuring that invitations are being mailed out.
  • Ensures the implementation of SUS policies and procedures, and regulatory requirements as set forth by OPWDD
  • Oversees, monitors and coordinate annual and six-month review of Staff Action Plan
    • Assuring that invitations are being mailed out.
    • Meetings are being held according to schedule
  • Attend all Life Plan meetings. During Life plan meetings- advocate for the person’s wants and offer support to the person so their voice is heard. Share valuable information based on observations, conversations and review of data collection to report on progress.
  • Monitors data collection on an ongoing basis
  • Participates in audits
  • Meetings are being held according to schedule
  • Coordinates and conducts reviews of people supported status/progress including an assessment of risks to person ’s rights and protection, as required
  • Ensures the follow-up of recommendations stemming from reviews/special meetings
  • Ensure Life Plan dates are accurate and review Life Plans to ensure they are accurate and finalized following the Life Plan review procedure
  • Additional responsibilities as assigned as needed by Director and/or Vice President, e.g. committee participation, in-service training for the agency, attendance at special meetings, etc.
Quality Improvement
  • Ensure Medicaid document Compliance
  • Assuring accurate amount of billing is reflected as F/T or P/T and is supported by documentation.
  • Upload finalized Life Plans and corresponding documents to the Precision Care system and distribute Staff Action Plans to all parties within a timely manner
  • Assuring all individuals attendance is accurate.
  • Assuring all necessary signatures are present.
  • Assuring all individuals clinical time is accurate.
  • Assuring all dates are accurate.
  • Reviews and approves Medicaid Billing Documents
  • Maintains Billing Accuracy and Submission of Quality Improvement Reports
  • Reviews and maintains electronic records to support billing
  • Complete all necessary billing corrections.
  • Submit responses to QA, Medicaid billing review.
  • Make all necessary corrections to billing as required by Vice President of Day Services, QA or Fiscal Department

Qualifications:

REQUIREMENTS

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
  • Bachelor’s degree in a Human Services is necessary.
  • 1+ years’ experience in the field of IDD
  • Good working knowledge of DH Billing process, well organized, experience in writing formal goals/outcomes and willing to advocate on the person supported behalf.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS
Bilingual (Spanish and English)
  • Basic computer skills (e.g. MS Office suite including Teams and Windows
  • Note: S:US will provide on-the-job training for such certifications.
  • SCIP-R; CPR & First Aid is needed, but not required.
