POSITION SUMMARY

The QC Analyst III position is responsible for all daily laboratory testing of raw materials, in process and finished products. In addition, this position is responsible for providing support for routine laboratory tasks an analysis, including but not limited to environmental monitoring, equipment calibrations/ verifications, raw material sampling, laboratory/ production process testing including chromatography analysis and laboratory investigations including CAPA.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

• Sampling and performing analysis for Site Environmental Monitoring
• Completion of long-term lab projects and method transfers with little oversite
• Employ sound and compliant laboratory techniques and logic per industry standards (e.g., FDA, USP/NF, ISO, ANSI) and internal and customer requirements
• Perform troubleshooting of testing and instrumentation, including chromatography instrumentation, as necessary and writing of minor laboratory investigations
• Any additional functions as assigned by the Laboratory Manager
• Experience with USP interpretation and testing
• SME in majority of QC Lab instrumentation and processes
• Review QC Lab testing and processes for adherence to lab and site SOPs
• Support on-time performance in the QC lab against the Production and laboratory schedules
• Follow all SOPs and Safety Guidelines to ensure compliance with a cGMP environment and Safety Practices
• Enter, track and maintain QC Lab metrics pertaining to investigations (OOS, OOT, CAPA, and LIR) Sampling of raw materials for QC Lab testing, as well as performing the required testing for raw material release
• Support QC audit readiness with understanding of FDA and ISO regulations and requirements
• Maintain a safe, clean, and organized environment (5S) for all QC areas
• Maintain accurate lab notebooks and complete all related analytical reports, write summaries, and keep proper documentation in compliance with SOPs
• Authoring and editing Laboratory SOPs as needed
• Capable of completing Laboratory OOS, OOT, and CAPA investigations
• Working knowledge of Empower software and the creation of methods and custom fields
• Familiar with Quality GMP documentation (hard copy and electronic) of testing results and assurance of laboratory data integrity
• Perform chemical testing using analytical instrumentation and wet bench techniques including pH, Viscometers, FTIR, UV-VIS, TOC, Gas Chromatography and Liquid Chromatography
• Perform routine maintenance, calibrations, and verifications of QC Laboratory equipment

EDUCATION

• Bachelor's degree in Chemistry or related field with 6+ years of experience

EXPERIENCE

• Microsoft Office and other software
• Excellent communication skills, including the ability to speak clearly, listen and gain clarification, respond well to questions, and write clearly and informatively
• Experience with laboratory instrumentation including GC and HPLC and troubleshooting of instrumentation.
• Experience working in an ISO or FDA regulated environment preferred
