What you will do

As a member of the Technology organization, the QA Software Engineer provides detailed planning, development, design, and execution of test strategies. The QA Software Engineer will work with product managers and software developers to ensure the functionality, performance, deployment, and security of all our products have documented test coverage. This position will also work closely with software automation resources to ensure test cases are automated and all features are covered correctly.

Our video devices, analytics, and AI solutions range from web-based applications, micro-services, and cloud applications to embedded software devices. Each of these technologies require a technical engineer to develop a testing strategy that will provide high confidence in the quality of the solution. The core responsibilities of the QA Software Engineer will be delivering comprehensive test scripts, building networks and technical environments, and provide critical feedback on the UI and UX of our solutions.

How you will do it

• Engineering physical environments to verify new technologies and products
• Contribute as an embedded member of the sprint team with assigned stories
• Drive quality standards and procedures into the process from the start of development
• Collaborate with technical and business stakeholders to write test scenarios based on requirements
• Leverage load generation tools such as J-meter to create real world scenarios
• Lead in the design and execution of test plan development
• Develop, modify, and execute software test plans for new feature development
• Leverage JIRA and JIRA plugins to document test coverage
• Track progress, open issues, burndowns, and critical path of new releases

What you will need
Required

• Experience with cloud, microservice, and web testing strategies
• Experience with troubleshooting best practices and procedures
• Ability to setup and deploy Windows and Linux environments
• Experience with writing, developing, and executing a test strategy
• (3) years of experience as a software test engineer

Preferred

• Experience with mobile testing, Android Studio or XCode mobile tools
• Experience with Docker or Kubernetes
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related technical degree
• Project management, forecasting and estimation
• Experience working in Agile environment
