Primary Purpose


Fills defects in surfaces of unfinished flooring and places flooring pieces into nesting jigs by performing the following duties:


Essential Functions And Responsibilities


Qualified individuals must have the ability (with or without reasonable accommodation) to perform the following duties:


  • Fills defects, such as knotholes and wormholes with putty mixture, using putty knife and places puttied pieces and non-filled flooring pieces into nesting jig with correct number of layers.
  • Perform any other duties assigned.
  • Removes unsatisfactory pieces from production process and places pieces in carts or return belts.
  • Mixes specified amounts of colored putties or patching compound with water to obtain workable consistency.
  • Removes flooring pieces from roundtable, examining unfinished surface for defects.
  • Inspects flooring pieces at each step of packaging process.
  • Secures flooring pieces in nesting jig using nylon or metal strapping.

  • Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
  • Good hand-eye coordination desirable.

  • The ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.

  • Must be able to work in a non-temperature-controlled environment and an environment that is usually loud.
  • Work near moving mechanical parts.
  • Regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds, occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds, and occasionally push more than 100 pounds.
  • Regularly standing, walking, stretching, bending, stooping, twisting, reaching, grasping and repetitive movements.
  • Frequently required to talk or hear.
