Principal Duties
Purchasing agent assists DTS in fulfilling it's mission by:
- Ensuring that we adhere to all State Purchasing rules
- Recommends possible options to increase purchasing power
- Provide information to customers on purchasing processes and procedures
- Purchasing of products and services for the entire department
- Experience performing purchasing duties for an organization
- Understanding of the fundamental principles of procurement
- Familiarity with financial software systems
- Employment contingent on passing a drug screening and a background check.
- Typically, the employee may sit comfortably to perform the work; however, there may be some walking; standing; bending; carrying light items; driving an automobile, etc. Special physical demands are not required to perform the work.
- Risks found in the typical office setting, which is adequately lighted, heated and ventilated, e.g., safe use of office equipment, avoiding trips and falls, observing fire regulations, etc.
