Education/Experience/Certification


  • Strong math and excel skills
  • Manufacturing industry experience a plus
  • High School Diploma or GED preferred
  • 1-3 years Purchasing experience or relevant education required
  • ERP experience, specifically SAP (preferred)


Essential Duties


  • Manage and create vendor relationships to ensure productive working relationships
  • Delivering a copy of the purchase order with a packing slip attached to the accounts payable team to be scanned daily as needed
  • Enter and maintain purchase orders and monitor planned delivery date
  • Works with receiving team to check freight slips against materials being delivered, noting any damage or shortages
  • Analyzing raw data to determine proper ordering and inventory levels to meet demand.
  • Collaborate with vendors to improve delivery lead time and decrease cost
  • Purchases component materials for production to deliver to our customers consistently on time


Knowledge/Skills:


  • Self-directed with a demonstrated ability to work independently
  • Must have strong problem solving and decision making skills with the judgement to identify and escalate issues of high importance
  • Strong negotiating skills
  • Knowledge of key supply chains/logistics processes and current best practices
  • Understanding of wood products
