PURCHASE CLERK

Monday- Friday|Baytown, TX 77523

We are looking for a Purchasing Clerk to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing all purchasing activities, including researching and evaluating suppliers, setting up new suppliers on the ERP system and raising purchase orders. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of purchasing procedures and regulations, excellent organizational skills, and the ability to prioritize tasks efficiently and meet deadlines.

Responsibilities:

• Perform other tasks as required by department or company, with authority level given by management
• Enter data into CRM system efficiently and accurately
• Receive incoming shipments and pick up items from vendors
• Provide customer service by contacting customers to provide information or resolve issues
• Create invoices for customers, update records and process payment
• Organize and maintain inventory in the warehouse
• Communicate with customers, answer questions and resolve issues as they arise
• Maintain records of purchase orders and invoices
• Ensure timely delivery of products by communicating with customers, ensuring timely delivery of products to customers, updating records and contacting vendors to obtain payment information
• Prepare orders for shipment by preparing orders accurately and efficiently using computer software
• Analyze market trends to determine the best time to purchase goods and services.

Skills:

• High school diploma or equivalent; Associates degree or relevant certification is preferred.
• Attention to detail and accuracy.
• Working knowledge of MS Office; knowledge of warehouse equipment such as forklifts is a plus but not required.
• Excellent organizational skills
• Knowledge of industry standards (e.g. inventory control procedures)
• Proven working experience as a Purchasing Clerk or similar role.
