Job Title: Pumper/Operator

Schedule : 7/7

Location: Carlsbad, NM (Candidates residing in Carlsbad, Hobbs, Loving, NM area required; Housing NOT available

Summary

This position is responsible for oil and gas well operations, well testing, operating and maintaining field equipment and facilities, surveillance of general field operations and maintenance of various databases regarding production and operations.

J ob Duties:

  • Perform operational check of assigned wells and associated equipment and facilities as necessary. Inspecting oil wells, tanks, meters, separators, compressors and attached piping components for leaks or unusual conditions and taking correct actions.
  • Help maintain compliance, in conjunction with HES team and production team, with all regulatory, environmental and safety regulations.
  • Conduct production tests, including minor repairs on surface production and injection equipment.
  • Check wells, maintain normal operating levels, pressures and flow on separation equipment, making adjustments to automatic and manual controls.
  • Assume responsibility and authority to stop unsafe work on Marathon location by employees or contractors.
  • Witness purchaser’s gauges and tests, ensuring accuracy, for sale or transfer of crude oil and water.
  • Prepare, maintain and submit daily reports and records of gas/liquid volume, well pressure and volume of chemicals used.
  • Monitor and optimize production and costs within area of control.

Physical requirements:

  • Must be able to wear personal protective equipment including the use of a respirator
  • Walking, bending, lifting, stooping is required
  • Must be able to respond to visual and audible alarms
  • Must be able to climb ladders and stairs, fixed to various equipment during production and drilling operations.
  • Must be able to work in temperature extremes or adverse weather conditions

Qualifications:

  • Candidate must be willing to relocate within a 50 mile radius of field site
  • Must meet all conditional job offer requirements including background, drug, hair follicle, MVR, agility and fit for duty
  • 0-1 years’ O&G Pumper/Operator experience required; must have ESP, Artificial Lift, SCADA;
  • Self-motivated individual with ability to work independently with minimum supervision.
  • Valid driver’s license and acceptable driving record
  • Excellent mechanical abilities and troubleshooting skills
  • Ability to utilize laptop PC and applicable software; familiarity with EVIN production software packages a plus.
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
