Pueblo Deli Clerk Jobs

JOB PURPOSE: Provides excellent customer service to deli customers and casino guests seeking to purchase fast food

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

• Communicate with customers regarding orders, comments, and complaints
• Notify kitchen personnel of shortages or special orders
• Relay food orders to cooks as needed
• Prepare daily food items using proper safety precautions and sanitary measures
• Accept payment from customers and make change as necessary
• Clean and organize eating, service, and kitchen areas
• Request and record customer orders, and compute bills using electronic cash register
• Select food items from serving or storage areas and place them in dishes, on serving trays, or in takeout containers

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS (KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES):

• Must be at least 18 years of age or older
• Must have at least 3 months experience in fast food or retail with customer service duties
• Interest in restaurant, hospitality, and/or casino industry helpful
• Knowledge of food preparation, handling, and presentation helpful

• Ability to handle a variety of customer requests and personalities
• Must be people oriented
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to multi-task

REQUIRED EDUCATION OR COMBINATION OF EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

• Good customer service skills
• Good math skills
• High school Diploma or GED

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS/WORK ENVIRONMENT:

• Lifting up to 35 lbs.
• Deli/snack bar setting in a casino; Shift work; Required to work weekends, holidays, and overtime
• Standing/Walking, 100% up to 4 hours at a time
• Exposure to heat and smoke from stoves
• Exposure to some cleaning chemicals
• Required to use and operate kitchen equipment and utensils
