  • Technical and safety development.
  • Maintain, sign off, and deliver project record drawings and test documentation.
  • Perform Job Hazard Analysis – JHA.
  • Verify SCADA and DFR points with utility operations staff; document results, communicate, and resolve discrepancies.
  • Sequence, schedule, and coordinate demolition/construction/testing outages in utility substations.
  • This position will be with our Mountain West team, reporting to the Mountain West Area Lead (AL) or Department Manager (DM). The work will primarily be located throughout Texas, New Mexico, Colorado, Arizona, Wyoming, and other areas within the Mountain West region.
  • Drive overall project scope, including testing and commissioning of protection and control systems on high-voltage substations for electric utilities and renewable plants.

Required Education/Experience

  • Demonstrable knowledge of testing electrical distribution, generation, and transmission projects with voltage levels ranging from 15 kV to 500 kV, including protective relays, circuit breakers, transformer controls, SCADA systems, and DFRs.
  • Five to ten (5-10) years of professional experience in the electrical testing industry, including experience in medium and high voltage circuit breakers, power transformers, instrument transformers, and substation protection and controls testing.
  • Experience in performing brownfield retrofits of relaying and equipment.
  • Experience validating substation protection and control wiring.
