We are currently searching for a Property Damage Estimator for Commercial General Liability claims, who is interested in working in a dynamic, fast-paced environment. Candidates must possess an understanding of commercial general liability claims processes and property damage estimating. They will be responsible for reviewing all estimates and supporting documentation submitted by restoration contractors, staff adjusters, independent adjusters and public adjusters estimating applications. The position is designed to ensure estimates meet Berkshire Hathaway GUARD estimating guidelines.

Responsibilities:

Responsibilities Include:
  • Travels as required.
  • Identifies any differences and validates that any differences are justified in accordance with standard construction and mitigation methodology.
  • Conducts research of construction material and labor pricing throughout the U.S.
  • Develops variance reports for construction and mitigation estimates.
  • Aides staff adjusters, independent adjusters and contractors on construction methodology and pricing.
  • Writes comparative estimates for mitigation and construction.
  • Negotiates with adjusters, contractors, independent adjusters, and public adjusters as necessary to reach agreement on final scope.
  • Obtains necessary documentation from providers.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
  • Creates, reviews, and send fair and accurate estimates through Xactimate.
  • Conducts comprehensive mitigation and construction invoice review to ensure charges are fair and accurate based on the complexity of each claim.
  • Captures and records data from initial estimates reviewed and variances.
Qualifications:
Qualifications:
  • Ability to complete the Texas Adjuster Licensing course and exam with a passing grade, if not a current Commercial Property and Casualty Adjuster license holder.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft office suite.
  • Proficiency in use of Xactimate estimating software.
  • Construction or Restoration contractor experience preferred.
  • IICRC Certification preferred.
  • Bachelor’s degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience preferred.
  • Five years of experience in insurance adjusting or construction background preferred.
