Job Overview:
Lead and coordinate cross-departmental projects. Design the project goals and success markers, determine how success will be measured and tracked. Ensure the project remains on time and on budget and help motivate team members to hit their goals. Support and collaborate on plant wide projects. Develops summaries of Engineering initiatives for senior management to enable decision making process
Responsibilities:
  • Predict resources needed to reach objectives and manage resources in an effective and efficient manner
  • Manages departmental Cost Center(s) budgeting, cost reporting, and action plans to meet cost targets.
  • Measure project performance to identify areas for improvement based on defined KPIs
  • Supports continuous improvement of processes, standardization and digitalization within the department
  • Acts as liaison between the Engineering at the corporate and plant level reporting on strategic initiatives.
  • Coordinate contracts with vendors and suppliers by assigning tasks and communicating expected deliverables
  • Supports department on various projects and tasks
  • Manage a detailed project schedule and work plan
  • Provide project updates on a consistent basis, usually to direct supervisor or management team
  • Support plant on cross-departmental projects and topics out of regular scope of work
  • Plan and lead mid-sized projects to ensure they are completed in a timely fashion
  • Participate in regular schedule meetings. May lead project meetings.
  • Track project costs in order to meet budget
  • May track department KPIs
  • Support & consult to define project scope and objectives
  • Other duties as assigned
Qualifications
Qualifications:
  • Knowledge in project management methodologies and relevant work expertise preferred
  • Fluent in German language strongly preferred
  • 3+ years of relevant experience
  • Bachelor's degree
Knowledge & Skills
  • Strong interpersonal skills and extremely resourceful
  • Team worker with interpersonal and intercultural competences and good communication skills.
  • Strong familiarity with project management software tools, methodologies preferred
  • Independent working, able to work under stress and without close supervision, ability to prioritize many duties, problem solving capacity.
  • Proven ability to solve problems creatively
  • Good coordination skills.
  • Technical automotive understanding preferred.
  • Very good knowledge and experience in MS Office (Word, Excel, Power Point).
  • Proven ability to complete projects according to outlined scope, budget, and timeline is a plus

Mercedes-Benz Vans, LLC (“MBV”) is a plant in Ladson, South Carolina that assembles Sprinter vans for the U.S. and Canadian market under the brands Mercedes-Benz and Freightliner. The midsize Mercedes-Benz Metris vans are also reassembled at this location.
Mercedes-Benz Vans, LLC has invested more than 500 million U.S. dollars in the new Sprinter plant, which officially opened in 2018. Today the MBV facility provides more than 1,600 jobs and supports at least 600 additional jobs in the region through its suppliers.
